Reports to and supervised by: Director of Facilities and Logistics

Division: Facilities and Logistics

Classification: Regular, Full-time, Non-exempt

Summary
The IT coordinator is responsible for managing all electronic record keeping systems, to include fire & emergency medical response records and website administration. Uses advanced skills and broad knowledge of business functions and IT to develop, implement, configure and support software systems.

Essential Functions
Performing daily duties, including (but not limited to):
1. Identifies database requirements; analyzing department applications, programming, and operations; evaluating existing systems and designing proposed systems
2. Create and prepare reports
3. Develop and deliver training for technical applications
4. Prepares users by conducting training; providing information; resolving problems.
5. Maintains District internet & intranet websites
6. Provides information by answering questions and requests
7. Administers software and is the subject matter expert for District technology applications
8. Communicates regularly with technical, applications, operational staff and external vendors to ensure database integrity and security;
9. Creates accounts for all users and assign security levels and controlling access permissions and privileges
10. Maintains liaison with the District’s information technology vendor(s)

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
This job operates in a clerical office setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing may be required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel
Ability to commute between operational locations, within 20 miles or less, driving organization provided vehicle

Required Education and Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer Technology (experience may substitute)
2. Knowledge of SQL, PHP, HTML, Linux, and most reporting writing software
3. Experience in data collection, entry and reporting with great attention to detail and confidentiality
4. Advance knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Access
5. Excellent inter-personal and communication abilities and problem-solving skills
6. Maintain a class “C” Texas vehicle drivers license

Compensation: Starting Hourly Rate (1st Quartile): $24.93 – $28.13 DOQ/E
