Outreach

The Department is focused on building strong relationships with the community.  Community Outreach is another way our Department reaches the citizens we serve by working with area business owners and Department employees to bring services that promote a safe and well environment.

Food Drives

During the summer and holidays increased demand for food in the local food banks are depleted of non-perishable food items and funds.  To assist local food banks, the District supports food drives.  During these food drives residents can drop off non-perishable food items and/or money at any of the District’s fire stations.

Our 2015 year end food drive is from October 15th through November 13th.  Drop off your non-perishable food items at any of the District’s fire stations or make cash donations at our Administration office.

Heroes for Heroes

Little known fact—firefighters have Heroes!  The District’s Heroes for Heroes Program was established by our firefighters to recognize and honor injured warriors returning from combat.  With support of area businesses, our Prevention Division helps severely injured service members and their families with the transition between active duty and civilian life.

Thanksgiving Meal for Seniors

As part of the Senior Safety Program, our Prevention Division recognizes and honors the Senior Citizens of our community.  Firefighters and staff serve an annual Thanksgiving Dinner at the Pflugerville Community Center on Foothills Farm Drive.  Employees of the District are pleased to provide this Thanksgiving Dinner through various sponsorship of area businesses and fundraising efforts.

Holiday Dinner for Ronald McDonald House

The Ronald McDonald House is home away from home for families with children undergoing treatment at area hospitals.  Our employees and PFD volunteers serve a holiday dinner to those families.

Holiday Meal for Veterans

Giving back to those heroes who served our country, each year our employees volunteer their time and money to provide Holiday Meal honoring area Veterans and their caseworker.

Gifts for Dell Children’s Center

Each year, employees work with local businesses to collect donations for children who are hospitalized during the holiday season.  “The smile on a child’s face is the most precious gift of all”, states Assistant Fire Chief Crane.
