What are the minimum requirements to be a firefighter?

The minimum requirements are:

• 18 years of age by date of hire,
• Eligible for employment in the U.S.,
• Current valid driver’s license, and
• High school diploma, high school transcript with graduation date, or G.E.D. certificate.
• Must be able read, write, and speak English.
• Must have a valid Social Security card.
